Platinum Stages Pole Crawl Bingo

Join us in one of the most fun pole jams, ever! We will have  Platinum Stage Star Poles at various locations on Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall. Each “pole bingo” location will have a monitor, who will let you know the available tricks for that venue. You will receive a bingo mark for each trick you complete. After going to each bingo location, you will be able to turn in your bingo cards for Platinum Stages prizes!

Platinum Stages Pole Crawl Bingo

Rules and Regulations:

-Nothing less than shorts and tanks can be worn while participating in the Pole Crawl Bingo

-Please note that the downtown mall is a family destination.   Keep the dancing to a minimum and try sticking with strictly tricks  (holds, inverts, spins).  You are ambassadors of the Pole Community and are educating everyone that stops to watch!

-No abusive or inappropriate language.  Even if heckled, leave the confrontation to our volunteers who will try to educate or remove the source of conflict.

Game Directions:

Starting location (Station A): On The Downtown mall if front of the Omni Hotel and Ice Park.  You must register and purchase a $5 Bingo card.  You will have 6 opportunities to complete a move, including wild cards (which will allow for your favorite move)!  If you draw a move that is on your card and execute the move, the location volunteer will stamp your card.  If you cannon execute the move, that is considered one of your turns and you must redraw.  Continue in that fashion until you have had 6 opportunities at each location.

Station B: Siip’s Wine Bar, inside

Station C: on Third Street between Rapture and Capellini’s Cupcakes.

Station D: Bang!  (Bar and restaurant)  Come pick up your prizes here! 213 2nd Street SW

General Guidelines

  • Competitors can be female or male.
  • No shoe requirement.
  • No vulgar lyrics in music or offensive movements during performance. This will
    result in immediate disqualification.
  • Dress code applies: no thongs; or other overly revealing clothing.
  • This event will be scored with more points going to the technical portion of the performance. This competition should be viewed as a a fitness exhibition, with the dancer performing feats of strength and flexibility, in controlled and unique ways, with fluid transitions.

Application Guidelines
1) Deadline entry is midnight, July 1, 2010. Please complete application and send via e-mail or
postal service. Please note: written application and video submission must be received by
midnight, July 1, 2010 to be considered. Entries after midnight July 1, 2010 will not be accepted.

2) Incomplete applications will not be considered.

3) Video submissions should be no longer than 2 minutes in length and should include spins,
inversions, and static holds. Use this opportunity to show us your individual style but note, that unique and/or technically difficult routines will be chosen. Applicants can use YouTube, Facebook, e-mail, or send a CD with submission.

4) Notification will be 2 months prior to competition and competitor information will be sent at that
time.

5) Applicants who are chosen to compete will receive consent to compete contract. Once signed,
if competitor fails to show for competition, there will be a monetary fine.

6) Props and removal of clothing will be discussed on a case to case basis.

  • This event will be scored with more points going to the artistic portion of the performance.  The competitors should use the choreography to express their interpretation of their song.  Consideration should be given on placement of moves and partnering dance style to song.
